Hello Summertime – schools are now finishing for a long awaited break and my Molly finished her A levels and so can now take a well earned break. Phew.

Vanil has had a very busy time traveling for first the time to Antwerp visiting the Serax showroom viewing the a/w collection.

A big tip, flying from city London airport is so easy, no long ques and for me an easy drive.

Beautiful collections tableware linens and the outdoor furniture, benches and chairs are on my wish list. The space is huge a well designed layout full of glorious designs. Watch out for new arrivals.

After a wonderful day I then headed for the centre of Antwerp and my lovely bed and breakfast. Situated right in the centre with large open fireplaces, wobbley old floor boards and floor to ceiling windows with shutters it was perfect.

Being on my own I wanted to walk and explore. On Route 13 you’ll find 6 of Antwerps finest yet edgy stores that share the same house number 13. Fashion collectables, furniture and curiuos design objects.

Yay a party conceptstore selling for children and adults – Lovely colours and selling Meri Meri one on my wish list.

http://www.fred01.be/nl A wonderful find F.R.E.D. stands for Facility for Research, Expression and Development. A creative house that inspires, both online and offline. As you enter there’s a wall covered in black graffti lettering. The beautiful collection of clothes are displayed in 2 large warehouse spaces – one of my favourite finds.

Wunderkammer Steenhouwersvest Boekhandel Stad Leest – which roughly translates to ‘Bookshop The City Reads’ is a curated space by a husband and wife team. They have gorgoeus books -papers a childrens play area and notebooks galore.

http://studiohelder.be/ Now this for me was truely inspiring. HELDER is a Shop and platform for contemporary design objects, furniture, jewelry and accessories by international designers and artists. I discovered Helder on the first day and found myself returning on the saturday to view again the gorgeous collections.

www.stvincents.co  If i ever wanted to open a space which also housed a coffee area this would be my inspiration. The small curated collection of ceramics and candles are displayed as if in a home. Midcentury sofas are there for relaxing and the coffee and breakfast was delicious. Very trendy but welcoming. I returned a few times during the weekend.

graanmarkt13.com/store is a special house in Antwerp, where each floor tells a different story. Founded by Ilse Cornelissens and Tim Van Geloven, it’s a crossover place full of surprises. In one welcoming flow, Graanmarkt 13 offers you a store, a restaurant and an apartment. Warm light, friendly minds and a tranquil atmosphere fill the spaces. As soon as you arrive, you are a guest to be treated with great care. I really wanted to stay here but on my list for next visit.

So many lovely coffee shops and restaurants. Bun a small vietemese restaurant with a good menu and delicious flavours was my choice for saturday evening.

There are great markets and on the sunday theres a small flea market selling bric and brac and antiques.

Was a great weekend and Ill def be returning to exsplore some more. x
