The flower Slåtterblomma or Grass of Parnassia, is no bigger than a centimeter in reality. Sofia Lind paints it on a large scale and with the same style and approach as if it were a portrait. Solemn and powerful. She shows that all plants are important for biodiversity, even the smallest and the weakest. This of course also reflects today’s society.
Sofia Lind is a designer and artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. After studying at HDK – Academy of Design and Crafts and Konstfack she went to Stockholm where she’s active now. Her work is very much imbued with patterns. The digital part of her work comes in late i the process and she allows the materials/paintings be visible and present.
