SISAL is a popular storage basket, perfect in winter for hats and mittens but also for yarn, toys or as a wastebasket.
Sisal is a strong material that grows well in the harsh Kenyan climate. No pesticides or chemical fertilizers are needed when growing sisal.
The artisans dye the sisal fibers and then roll the yarn in their lap to create threads with which to braid.
