Chosen artworks to feature for ‘Food & Drink’ are two more images of loveliness by Danish printmaker Monika Peterson, her ‘strawberry’ and ‘artichoke’ prints. Monika uses the linocut technique to create her images, printing both open and limited edition prints, stunningly beautiful quality using a single colour on heavy weight paper. We think her prints are just gorgeous!
Martin Coe is a local artist who not only draws and paints beautiful images inspired by the Suffolk landscape, but he is also a highly talented furniture restorer, in particular his passion for mid-century Ercol furniture. Vanil is pleased to show Martin’s artwork in the Woodbridge shop, as well as recommending his expertise for furniture restoration.
Another one of our discoveries is the illustrator and designer Brie Harrison, who we have featured in the Vanil shop with her beautiful cards and prints of plant-life; she draws great inspiration from travel and loves to document the ornate details found in nature on her trips. Brie’s studio is in London, so she often makes visits to her home in Suffolk to gather inspiration for new projects walking in the forests, along the beaches and in the gardens. Brie was one of those lovely customers who popped into the shop, from then on we have developed a lovely working relationship, so for ‘Food & Drink’ we invited Brie to make a limited edition run of collages on the theme of vegetables more specifically asparagus, available in the Vanil shop.
